Some of our strongest memories are associated with food. Proust was well aware of this, and so is Diane von Furstenberg, who needs only one special meal to bring back memories of longtime friend and fellow designer Oscar de la Renta. The two shared this Saturday night dinner at her home in Connecticut. Von Furstenberg told Style.com: “I bought my home in Connecticut mostly because of Oscar. For years, he and his wife would come every Saturday night for dinner. We would eat Saturday night chicken with potatoes and artichoke and watch a movie.” Furstenberg shared the recipes with us—a humble, wholesome menu of chicken, artichokes, and roast potatoes. The dishes provide an intimate glimpse into a famous friendship. “We always kept the meal simple,” Furstenberg said, “because, really, it was about the company.”
